Have you ever been so immersed in something, you forgot time & space around you?
That feeling, when you feel like you’re just surfing on that perfect wave of creative or analytical momentum.
The official definition is
„(…) mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. “
I like to describe it as the place where your personal genius and your innermost passion meet –
when you do something you naturally excel at – and at the same time, what you love doing.
When those two factors are combined, it becomes a high gratification experience, which means that your entire system feels the reward.
So why are we talking bout this?
Because if you’ve ever been there, you know how good it feels. This is your calling. This is what you and the people around you will benefit the most from.
Most people spend their lives doing something that bores the hell out of them for 8 hours straight each day, just to drive home, drop dead on the couch and watch a show that exites them slightly, while binge eating and slowly falling asleep – just to repeat the same procedure again the next day, and the next and the next.
When you make your flow-configuration your mission in life, you will
- struggle no longer with boredom during work
- always be motivated to jump out of bed every morning
- serve yourself, humanity & the whole biosphere at your optimal capacity.
All this pretty much describes my own journey – I was stuck in office job after office job, feeling like my life was hell.
When I started teaching Yoga, I realized how good I am at leading people closer to themselves through their own bodies – and how good I can help people being clear when they’re completely stuck.
So I turned my flow into my career, and became my own boss here at the Thriving Warrior – helping overworked 9-5’ers and entrepreneurs to unwind & find clarity for new momentum – for a life & business that’s aligned with their authentic purpose.
What is your personal flow-configuration?
Have you ever surfed that wave of flow?
If not, what did you really love doing when you were a kid?
