Sometimes, despise of all healthy habits and yoga, and even though I do my very best to stay grounded in my body in this fast-paced world, the world seems to spin a tad too fast for me.
When there’s little time for self-care and recharging, I turn to little rituals before bedtime that nourish and bacalm down my nervous system.
last week, it was one of those weeks.
And I made myself a bowl of wonderful coconut-lavender-magnesium body butter and oiled that ol bod up for a perfect winddown.
Magnesium is essential
When we’re stressed out, we use up more magnesium than usual (and it’s so essential for our wellbeing!!). Adding a little of it to your skincare will not fill up all your magnesium need, so you might still have a bunch of bananas or a little supplement.
But by adding some to your skin, you leave more to the underlying structures.
Coconut oil is wonderfully soothing and nourishing – make sure it’s organic.
The lavender has a very calming and balancing effect and will have your mind go to that Zen place right away.
Make sure it’s a natural essential oil and not room aroma. Some people react sensitive to essential oils, be sure to use a little less if you have issues with that and make sure to try it on a small segment of your skin if you’re unsure.
I’m so in love with this recipe and I’m so glad I get to share it with you!!
Recipe
Here’s what you will need to make your own soothing Lavender Body Butter:
– 1 cup of coconut oil
– 1 tablespoon of magnesium oil
– 3 drops of lavender oil
The process is really easy.
If your coconut oil is solid, warm it up in a bowl in a hot water bath to melt it. Add in the other oils and and use it right away or put in a jar for later on.
Hope you enjoy and you get to chill out real soon.
Much love,
Louella
